APRIL 26--Newburyport Literary Festival Children's Program 9:00-3:00 at Inn St. Montessori and Newburyport ArtWalk with guest Mary Newell DePalma 3:30-6.
Saturday--APRIL 19, 10 to 12 Ed Emberley will not be at the Newburyport Literary Festival, but he will be at the Child at Heart Gallery. He has been known to sign books, draw pictures and even sign his Boston Marathon children's T-shirts!
Tuesday--APRIL 15--Dr. Susan Linn at the Firehouse. Get tickets from us and purchase books for signing.
2007 CALENDAR
November 12-18 CHILDREN'S BOOK WEEK
Saturday, Nov.24, an 11 am program at the Newburyport Library Children's room will celebrate family and cultural traditions for New Year's Day. Child at Heart Gallery artist, Marion Eldridge will read the new book Shante Keys and the New Year's Peas which she illustrated, and lead a hat making activity for school age(5+) children. This and The Sparrows Easter Song may be purchased in advance or after the program until 1 pm at the gallery, 48 Inn St. Newburyport, for signing. An animal scene from the Sparrow book and a guitar singing cowboy are new prints by Eldridge, published by the Child at Heart Gallery which are now available. Marion Eldridge from N. Billerica, is an active member in a number of book and illustrator organizations and is published in books, magazines and Unicef projects.

August 18: Author and artist, Mary Newell DePalma recently returned from presenting at the Mazza Collection Gallery affliated with Findley University in Ohio. She signed the new print, "..and they danced with the wind" and numereous books during this ArtWalk/Newburyport event. Continue to enjoy guitar & vocals with Keith Allen from the Waterfront Park String Band around town during good weather. Thank you for a great evening Keith!
June 25: Irena and John Roman came Sunday instead of Friday and brought two of the original paintings from A Butterfly Wish. John Roman also signed his unique Condord, Mass. historical ($20) poster.
June 11: Matt Tavares author/illustrator read and talked about how he created his award winning baseball stories. Some signed copies of Oliver's Game are available while they last from the Gallery.
April 1: Katrin Hyman Tchana with her new book Changing Woman and Her SistersGoddesses from Around the World created with her late mother Trina Schart Hyman was at the Newburyport Library at 2:00pm. She was at the Gallery after 3:15 to visit and signing books.
March 19: Storytime and book signing featuring A Grand Old Tree by Mary Newell DePalma. The Gallery is pleased to offer the tissue-paper, watercolor, mixed medium original art from this book. An intergenerational gift, the life cycle of this tree is a joy to read and view.
February 4: Ed Emberley was at the Pottery Isle in Amesbury, MA. Mr. Emberley did his much loved "Chalk Talk" school presentation. (Donations were accepted and a percentage of sales went to the Amesbury public school libraries.)
